Finishing up the three duplexes
We were blessed to have a team from Canada help us finish up three duplexes at IFM's Earthquake Housing Village. This makes a total of 19 duplexes for 38 families.
Putting on the roofs.

Pouring the floors

Happy recipients help too!
Washing up for lunch at the pump.
The team with Mike and Mme Soufiz. Mme Soufiz made all our lunches for us. A big thank you to the Florida Haiti Benefit Auction for funding these houses.
On the last day the team was here, we were able to go put the roof on the house we are building in the mountains of Marre Roseau. This house is funded by Love-A-Child.
The elderly grandma and grandpa have 2 children that died and 1 that is sick, leaving them with 3 sets of grandchildren to care for. The old house is on the right. They are very happy!

Are you dressed for the wedding?
Today there were three that responded to the call of the Holy Spirit and chose to surrender their lives to Jesus as Lord. Deacon Gesner preached from Matthew 22 about responding to God's invitation, that many are called but few are chosen.
Pray for these and other new believers around the world that they would learn to walk in righteousness to the glory of God.
The people came to the front and the Pastor asked them a few questions and shared their responses with the congregation.
The Pastor and Deacons praying with them.
The final hymn was "Since Jesus Came Into My Heart".
My friend, as you are reading this, has Jesus come into your heart? Can you say with your whole heart, "All to Jesus I surrender"? Are you willing to renounce the business and pleasure that keeps you from doing the will of God and come to the feast that He has prepared? He has a ring and a robe ready. No other robe will do in that final day, than the righteousness of Christ Jesus, and as Revelations says, "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Church Camp
We met here in this open classroom three to four times each day for prayer services, worship, teaching and debates. Pray that the Word that went out during this time would take root in their hearts.
We visited a local church Sunday. It was a full crowd as several other church camps were visiting there too. The visiting pastor had an excellent message for the youth. "You may have come here to get away from carnival but you can still be there in your hearts and on your phones."
The food was delicious especially because it was prepared with love by several older sisters in the church who came along. This is "Diri koulè ak kabrit", also know as colored rice with goat. We bought two goats at the local market and butchered them there.
Discussion after the evening service. Bartony, Rebecca, Wismith and Pete.
This is the Mardi Gras truck being covered for the night. Unbeknownst to us, the people living at the school we camped at were in charge of heading up the local Mardi Gras parade for the town. They spent the afternoon getting everything ready and left from the school with music blaring and girls a-glimmering. It was a bit of a culture clash, the church getting ready for the next service, the world getting ready for the next party.
We really saw the power of prayer when it returned that evening and scarcely a head turned from the church because of the intense interest in the work of the Spirit in the service. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Carnival
This time of year the school does a soccer tournament between the different grades.
It is also this time of year that the youth from the church take a special trip they call camp; except it often is sleeping in the classrooms of a school in another area and not really camping per se. The Garber family is planning to go along at least for a few days. Please pray for them.
Camp is a five day event designed to get the youth away from home during Carnival/Mardi Gras. Please pray for the mission over this time. It is a very rowdy time to say the least, and at its worst can be violent. A carnal atmosphere pervades, and the powers of darkness are especially palpable.
