Fernard is to be married to Thouslene.

At Haitian weddings the bride and groom and 'bestman & maid of honor' sit facing each other. Here they are saying their vows and the pastor is offering marriage counselling
at the same time :)

We're On the Move and In the Air!!

The day shall always be remembered as the memoriable day in the IFM pharmacy girls' history! We have had contruction bosses busily working on remodeling the old clinic part. They have put big support posts thro the centre of the hospital and replastered all the ceilings with cement. This is to make the whole building stronger and more 'earthquake proof'. Of course this means that we all have to move out . One by one all the rooms got moved back to the new hospital part and we got settled in back there. Wednesday afternoon was the big day we moved all the piles and piles of stuff over to our new pharmacy. What an exhausting day, but it was worth!

Dale and Wisky lugged those old metal shelving units over to the brand new pharmacy. Of course not all of them -  you see we didn't move all the tonnes of other stuff and junk that accumalated in the old pharmacy so we didn't need all those shelves!!
Hence the old pharmacy looked like this after we yanked all the stuff off to move those shelves over. I just couldn't stop exclaiming over all the STUFF!!
Michelle and Wisky pause for a picture on one of the voyages over with boxes of meds, lotions and injections.

Nice! Very nice! The little nook where we girls package pills. In  no time at all we were settled & back to work. I think the pink desk accents the corner just splendid!
Sheila handing meds out of the new pharmacy window - wow! So modern! It's taken our patients a little longer to adjust to the change and find us at our new location.
HMMM!! The best part of the pharmacy day is our visitors. Eddie and the rest of the little kid's home guys love to come visit us!
Way to go Matt!! He gave us his electrical services and rigged up the speaker system for our stereo. Now all the patients and staff can enjoy great music thro out the day!
....... and now for the best part, not only did he wire up the stereo he......

....put in an air conditioner!!!! Thus I say perhaps the most life changing day in IFM pharmacy girls history!! Now the meds can stay nice and cool instead of melting in the heat and ... so can we! Thanks Matt!

A little gathering time at IFM

We gather here in Jesus name........the IFM staff from the D.R. and Haiti enjoyed a brunch and a
time of singing and fellowship together last Saturday.
The guys fixed most of the food~it was delicious!

Laurie brought over some beautiful zinnias for us to enjoy!

Mike and Joannas family in the back, Dale on right
and Matt with his boys from the Childrens Home.

Here is Kikko`s sweet family

There was quite a number of us here!

Truly it is a blessing to have a wonderful group of believers all directed towards one common goal.
To see others come to Christ and for Him alone to recieve all the glory.

We as staff, want to thank each one of you for your prayers and support in our behalf.
God is the giver of all good and we praise Him for it.

Rest in the Lord...

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself… Psalm 37:7a

It is hard to believe that one year has passed since I started working with IFM.
I have learned so many things in the past year I would need a ream of paper to print the dialog.

As I sat down to type this letter my heart was flooded with pleasant and sad emotions.
I do not understand why God would call me away from a ministry that I love and want to be part of.

It is very possible that in my life time I will never know the answers to these big “why” questions but in this one thing I rest assured.
I know who (Jesus) holds my life in the palm of his hand, and I know he is working things out according to His perfect plan for my life.

Commit the way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5
May 2012 will be my last month with IFM.
I plan to work a part time job in Pennsylvanian this summer and do a bit of traveling, after that I have no definite plans.

To all of the IFM staff, it was great learning to know you guys; I will really miss working with you. Keep on pointing the people around you to Jesus Christ.

Please pray that God will continue to open doors of ministry in my life and that he would provide somebody to replace me in the USA office.

See how the water is rising

The water has started to take over the courtyard of the old mission house. Here Dale is getting ready to detach the old steps so they can be moved towards the front of the house.

The entire mission house is flooded with 3-4 inches of water.

This is just amazing!

But life still goes on as we do a little landscaping at the ad house.

CHOICE MADE US SISTERS

Two of the definitions I found for sisters is as follows:
-a girl or woman regarded as a comrade
-one that is closely similar to or associated with another
Those two definitely define "the IFM sisters". Its strange and amazing how we come from such varied backgrounds and even different countries and yet have bonded together and become sisters. Its not at all uncommon for two or more of us to say the same thing at the same time or we can look at each other and know what the other one is thinking. We think the same about alot of stuff, and what we don't agree on, we agree to disagree. Makes for alot of lively discussions and close friendships. Best of all, is the way we have helped each other come through tough times and to draw closer to God. Thank-You God for each one and Bless her on her journey!!!!
